Nixon Put will make his debut when he dons on the SP Hunters jersey for the first time in this weekend’s round 1 Intrust Super Cup clash against CQ Capras in Rockhampton on Saturday.
Coach Michael Marum named the Western Highlands youngster in the starting line up along with fellow Hagen Eagles player Moses Meninga in an extended 20 man squad to travel on Thursday.
Willie Minoga, former captain Israel Eliab, David Loko and Stanton Albert make welcome return to the Hunters after being out last season. Albert was away with Penrith Panthers for the past two years.
Marum has rested vice captain Welington Albert and Stargroth Amean this weekend who suffered minor injuries from the trial game in Cairns as well as Wartovo Puara who will be out for another six weeks.

Two (2) to be omitted
Marum will name the final 18 man team to travel tomorrow afternoon. The team leaves on Thursday morning for Brisbane and then onto Rockhampton later that day while Marum and captain Ase Boas remain in Brisbane for the official ISC launch. They travel to Rockhampton on Friday.
The SP Hunters take on CQ Capras at 6pm on Saturday at Browne Park in Rockhampton.
They return to Port Moresby at 1.30pm on Sunday.
